Marlborough Sauvignon, 77% of the country’s vineyard production, has brought New Zealand wines very much to the fore in the UK.  Vineyards extend 1,000 miles along the length of the 2 islands, starting in the sub-tropical north and ending in Central Otago, home to the world’s second most southerly vineyards.   Despite the dominance of Sauvignon Blanc, there are many other wines to taste from New Zealand, including elegant Pinot Noirs and Bordeaux-style reds, some delicious Chardonnays and cool climate white grapes such as Pinot Gris and Riesling.  We will not be stuck for choice!
