The Big Portuguese Tasting!
March 19th, £49pp, includes 8-9 wines and food pairings

This Portuguese odyssey will kick off with a glass of chilled white Port before we move on to taste 4 whitesand 4 reds from the Douro, Alentejo, Dão & Vinho Verde regions.  Alongside the wines the selection of food pairings will include Chouriço al vinho, cod fish tacos, Manchego cheese, smoked salmon, whipped ricotta with lemon and herbs and some hearty lamb sausage.

 

Often more talked about for its Port wine and cork production, during this tasting we will take a thorough look at Portugal’s key wine regions.  We’ll contrast and compare bottles from the cool Atlantic coastal regionswith those from warmer inland areas such as the Alentejo.  With 230,000 hectares of vineyard and a treasure trove of indigenous grape varieties on offer, there will be plenty to explore.
